This blog is to bring art into every day life and experiences. Art to me isn’t something purely decorative to hang on the wall. It has a powerful purpose and could be used to explore everything from feminism, mental health and the every day things we ignore.
Until last year, I worked as a secondary school teacher in South London. I had several dreams that encouraged me to work with colour and light. I never understood what it meant but it reignited by interest to draw and paint. I recently left my job to return to school and study for an art foundation shortly after turning 30. This decision has proved to be incredibly challenging and rewarding and I hope to share my research on artists, my art-work and my interest in the symbolism of subject matter and colour.
I hope this blog will make art useful, relevant, political and humorous.
